Our Work
Willet Studios completed a comprehensive repair program involving 19 stained glass windows at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Each window was evaluated individually, with repairs completed as needed to address structural concerns, damaged glass, and areas of movement.
Stained Glass Repairs
The repair work included varying combinations of the following:
- Stabilizing cracked glass to help prevent further movement or damage
- Reducing and straightening bulged sections to relieve stress within the window
- Installing new steel structural support braces where additional support was needed
- Re-positioning loose stained glass back into its original lead channel
These repairs helped improve the structural stability of the windows while preserving the existing stained glass and its original character whenever possible.
Through careful glass stabilization, structural support, and repair of loose and bulged sections, Willet Studios helped preserve the 19 stained glass windows at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and extend their longevity for future generations.
