About the Church
St. Dennis Church serves its local community through worship, fellowship, and service. The church’s stained glass windows are an important part of its worship space, adding beauty and meaning to the interior while reflecting the traditions and history of the congregation.
Our Work
Willet Studios completed a comprehensive historic restoration and preservation project for one of the church’s stained glass windows. The project included the removal and restoration of the existing stained glass, exterior re-cementing, and the installation of a new protective covering system.
Historic Restoration
The stained glass window was carefully removed from its opening and transported for restoration.
While the window was being restored, temporary tinted acrylic was installed in the vacated opening, providing protection for the church while maintaining a finished appearance.
The stained glass then underwent a complete program of historic restoration before being carefully reinstalled in its original opening.
Klear-Flo™ Protective Coverings
Following restoration, the stained glass window was re-cemented on its exterior surface to help reinforce the window assembly and improve its weather resistance.
The window opening also received new protection using Willet Studios’ exclusive Klear-Flo™ protective covering system. The system utilized 1/4-inch acrylic to provide an additional protective barrier between the historic stained glass and the elements.
Protective coverings were also installed in the traceries, providing additional protection for these intricate portions of the window.
Through careful historic restoration, exterior re-cementing, and the installation of Klear-Flo™ protective coverings, Willet Studios helped preserve this stained glass window and protect it for generations to come.
