About the Church

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church is the parish church of Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly, Michigan, within the Diocese of Saginaw. Good Shepherd Parish includes several Catholic worship sites throughout the surrounding community, with St. John the Evangelist serving as one of its primary parish churches.

Our Work

Willet Studios completed a repair and stabilization project involving 21 stained glass windows at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The work addressed structural movement, damaged glass, and areas where the stained glass had become loose within its lead framework.

Structural Repairs

Several windows had developed bulging sections, which were carefully straightened to help restore the windows to a more stable position.

New steel structural braces were installed where additional support was needed. Existing loose braces were also reattached, providing additional stability and helping protect the windows from future movement.

Glass Repairs

Damaged and loose glass was carefully addressed throughout the project. Cracked glass was stabilized with epoxy to help prevent further movement or deterioration.

Where stained glass had become loose within its lead channel, the pieces were carefully repositioned and returned to their original locations. These repairs helped preserve the existing glass while maintaining the historic character and appearance of the windows.

Through careful structural stabilization and glass repair, Willet Studios helped preserve 21 stained glass windows at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and ensure they can continue to serve the congregation for years to come.
