About the Church
Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church serves the Catholic community of Triadelphia, West Virginia, and the surrounding area. The church’s stained glass windows are an important part of its worship space, contributing color, beauty, and character to the historic church interior.
Our Work
Willet Studios completed a preservation project focused on the church’s balcony rose window. The work addressed the condition of the surrounding millwork, the exterior surface of the window, and the existing protective covering.
Window & Millwork Repairs
The interior millwork surrounding the balcony rose window was repaired to address areas requiring attention and improve the overall condition of the window assembly.
The exterior surface of the stained glass window was re-cemented, helping reinforce the window and improve its resistance to environmental exposure.
The surrounding millwork was also repainted, refreshing the appearance of the window and completing the millwork repairs.
The ventilator located on the upper half of the rose window was sealed shut as part of the preservation work.
Klear-Flo™ Protective Coverings
The existing protective covering was carefully removed to prepare the window for new protection.
Willet Studios installed the Klear-Flo™ protective covering system utilizing a specialized perimeter frame and 1/4-inch acrylic. The new protective covering provides an additional barrier between the stained glass and the elements while allowing the beauty of the rose window to remain visible.
Through careful millwork repairs, exterior re-cementing, ventilator sealing, and the installation of a new Klear-Flo™ protective covering, Willet Studios helped preserve the balcony rose window at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church for years to come.
